London menswear indie Anthem closes

Luxury menswear indie Anthem has closed its doors after over two and a half years of trading in east London.

Ex-Liberty menswear buyer Simon Spiteri set up the store with business partner Jeremy Baron in September 2011. The Shoreditch store stocked menswear brands including Dries Van Noten, Rag & Bone and Champion by Todd Snyder. The store at 10-12 Calvert Avenue also had a focus on Japanese labels including Blue Blue Japan and Vias Blomme.

A message on the company website said that “as of April 30 2014 Anthem Store will cease trading. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your kind support and custom over the years.”

Customers with existing orders or returns are being directed to a company email address.

Representatives for the store were unavailable for comment when contacted by Drapers.
