London Olympics seeking clothing licensee

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) is looking for a licensee for the design, manufacture and UK retail distribution of its London 2012 branded clothing products.

The merchandise covered by the deal would carry the London 2012 brand only and would include a full range of leisure wear and sports clothing, including T-shirts, polo shirts, fleeces, jackets, tracksuits, baseball caps, rucksacks and holdalls.

The collection will complement the product range designed by Adidas, London 2010's official sportswear partner.

Chris Townsend, commercial director for LOCOG, said: "We look forward to receiving innovative responses from the industry which will help us involve the public in the Olympic and Paralympic Games through our merchandise programme, as well as bring in important revenues as we seek to raise the £2 billion required to stage the Games in 2012."
