Londonedge and Londoncentral have signed up almost twice as many new exhibitors for September compared with the previous season.
At the last event in February, 10% of the exhibitors were new brands, whereas for September 09 that has jumped to 18%. The organisers attribute the marked increase to a growing confidence among brands.
First-time brands include US hand-printed t-shirt company Strange Monster, retro jewellery brand Cherry Bombshell, UK ethical t-shirt brand Killer Strawberry and Labelled Insane, an extreme sports clothing line from California.
Londonedge and Londoncentral managing director Carole Hunter said: “We’re seeing a lot of small and relatively new companies signing up to the exhibition, which shows that designers and manufacturers aren’t afraid to get out there and compete with more established brands to sell their products. This faith is supported by our continued determination to support young and small design companies by providing very small stands and through our sponsorship schemes. The results are great news for both retailers and customers who are looking for something a little different.”
Londonedge and Londoncentral will take place at Olympia 2, London, from September 6-8.
