Long Tall Sally acquires Dutch rival

Long Tall Sally has acquired Dutch womenswear retailer Pretty Tall for an undisclosed amount.

A selection of Long Tall Sally clothing will be stocked in Pretty Tall’s two stores in Apeldoorn and Hoofddorp in the Netherlands with immediate effect.

The Pretty Tall website has closed. From 2018, its brands will be available via Long Tall Sally’s Dutch website, which launched five months ago.

Pretty Tall founder Inez Scheper will remain with the business along with 13 store staff, and will oversee its Netherland stores.

Andrew Shapin, CEO of Long Tall Sally, said: “Joining forces with Pretty Tall is a natural development of our strategy to be the first choice in fashion for tall women worldwide.

“Our collection of the world’s largest range of clothing and footwear designed specifically for tall women has already been very well received in the Netherlands and will now be complemented by Pretty Tall’s well curated offering.”

“This is an incredibly exciting step,” added Scheper. “Together we are stronger. We look forward to offering all tall women in the Netherlands beautiful product and outstanding service – both online and in store.”

Long Tall Sally appointed Lara Bonney, previously managing director at the UK Abacus Alliance, as chief marketing officer a month ago
