French accessories brand Longchamp is set to be the latest luxury label to open a store at Westfield London.
The 1,076 sq ft store, which will open on September 20, has dedicated spaces for each of the brand’s product categories including its bags, shoes and luggage collections.
The expansion follows a rise in UK sales of a third in 2011 compared with the previous year, according to chief executive Jean Cassegrain.
“This year is following that trend, and we have seen an increase of over 25% in the first half of this year over last year at the same time,” he said. “I am optimistic that this trend will continue. This is an important market to us, not only because of the popularity of our brand among the British, but also due to its role as a leading tourist destination.”
Opening the new store “confirms Langchamp’s confidence” in the UK market, he added.
