Louis Vuitton has appointed accessories designer Darren Spaziani to spearhead new lines of high-end leather goods at the brand.
Spaziani, who worked at Vuitton from 2004 to 2006 as a senior leather goods designer, is due to re-join the company on October 1.
Details of Spaziani’s job title are not yet known but it is understood that he will work on mens and womens products.
The designer comes to the luxury label from Proenza Schouler, where he was director of accessories design for the last five years. Spaziani held the same position at Balenciaga from 2006 to 2008, and subsequently was design consultant at Diane Von Furstenberg for two years.
The move follows the news last week that LVMH has snapped up a majority stake in London footwear designer Nicholas Kirkwood.
