Louise Amstrup awarded On|Off funding

Womenswear designer Louise Amstrup has been awarded The On|Off Visionary Award 2010, meaning the Danish-born designer will receive funding to show on the On|Off catwalk during London Fashion Week (LFW).

On|Off, which showcases emerging designers during LFW, awards funding to one label each year for a free catwalk as well as all casting and production costs.

This year’s judging panel included On|Off founder Lee Lapthorne and its fashion director Claire Ginzler, as well as guest judge Jemma Dyas, buyer at directional designer indie Browns Focus.

Dyas said: “I chose Louise because I feel she has all the requisite elements to be a huge success, and that this award provides the perfect platform to showcase her talent to the industry.”

Amstrup said: “This is such an amazing opportunity. With this award I now have all the components to propel me to the next level. I am so excited and can’t wait for my show in September at On|Off.”

Ginzler said: “The focus of The Visionary Award is about giving a designer the support in order or them to expand within the industry.”
