LVMH prize goes to Grace Wales Bonner

The LVMH 2016 prize has been awarded to London-based designer Grace Wales Bonner.

The designer will receive a €300,000 [£236,000] grant and personalised support over a 12-month period to help her develop her label, Wales Bonner.

The Central Saint Martins graduate was selected by a panel including Nicolas Ghesquière, J.W Anderson, Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, Humberto Leon, Carol Lim, Phoebe Philo, Riccardo Tisci, Louis Vuitton executive VP Delphine Arnault, Jean-Paul Claverie and LVMH chief executive Pierre-Yves Roussel.

LVMH also awarded a prize to Vejas Kruszewski, a self-taught Canadian designer who launched his first collection at the autumn 15 New York Fashion Week.
