Make It British to showcase first all-British sourcing event

The Truman Brewery in London will play host to some of the best British textile, clothing and leather goods manufacturers in an event run by sourcing website Make it British.

Taking place on June 11 and 12, ‘Meet The Manufacturer’ will provide networking opportunities for buyers, designers and UK manufacturers as well as running a series of seminars.

The event has come in response to a massive increase in requests from designers, buyers and sourcing directors looking to find quality British products.

Make it British founder Kate Hills said: “As enquiries for UK manufacturers has increased significantly over the last year, I realised that there was no one sourcing event for buyers to attend to meet them all. The manufacturers too were contacting us looking to reach new customers. I found myself providing a matchmaking service between both parties, and quickly recognised this event could streamline this service and bring added value”.

As well as the exhibition, attendees will have the chance to book one-on-one appointments with key manufacturers, a speed-dating style format that currently does not exist in the UK.

Hills will be working alongside John Walford, founder of Fashion Scout, to produce the event.
