Man injured at Topshop Showspace during LFW

Paramedics were called to the Topshop Showspace London Fashion Week venue on Gray’s Inn Road today (September 16) after a man was injured falling through the roof of the building.

The incident occurred during the Fashion East spring 15 show taking place, which took place in a former industrial warehouse building in the King’s Cross area of the capital.

At 14.50pm this afternoon Topshop posted on social networking site Twitter: “For those at the #TopshopShowspace earlier for @Fashion_East the worker from the adjacent building is being cared for by medical staff.”

The venue has been used by a number of designers and Arcadia brands Topshop and Evans to host shows during LFW over the past five days.

The man is understood to have fallen through a corrugated roof panel, which broke underneath him. He was rushed to hospital after the incident.

In a statement a Topshop spokesperson said: “The builder was working on an adjacent building site to the Topshop Showspace and walked on the corrugated glass roof on top of the space - as to why he walked on it we do not know yet - but the slate of glass gave way. He fell in an area to the back of the stage.”
