Management rejig at Gieves & Hawkes

Savile Row menswear retailer Gieves & Hawkes is restructuring its management team and rethinking its store portfolio under new chief executive Steven Walton.

Walton told Drapers that the overhaul of the business, which will also include its supply chain and technology infrastructure, was part of a three-year investment plan, but declined to give further details.

Walton joined Gieves & Hawkes in April, when former chief executive Mark Henderson was appointed deputy chairman. Marketing director Julian Boow left last month.

Gieves & Hawkes’ pre-tax losses hit £1.3m in the year to December 28, 2008 against a loss of £4,000 the year before. Sales over the period were £17.2m, up from £16.9m.
