Management shake-up at Selfridges

Selfridges has promoted customer director Simon Forster to the position of managing director of retail arm Selfridges & Co, as current MD Anne Pitcher takes on responsibility for the wider group.

From 1 February, Forster will be responsible for the continuing success of Selfridges’ four UK stores and for developing the retailer’s omnichannel business.

Pitcher will become managing director of Selfridges Group, responsible for driving growth across Selfridges’ retail businesses in the UK, Europe and Canada.

Paul Kelly, currently managing director of Selfridges Group, will take up a new position as managing director of the group’s property arm, Wittington Property Investments, in the UK and Europe. He will develop the group’s portfolio of properties, as well as the future plans for the Selfridges Hotel and Neighbourhood Plan.

Alannah Weston, deputy chairman at Selfridges Group said: “I am delighted to welcome Paul, Anne and Simon into their respective new roles. I have had the absolute pleasure of working with each of these individuals over many years and it is a reflection of the talent we continue to build across Selfridges Group that we are able to fill these important roles by nurturing our talent and planned succession from within the business.”
