Manolo Blahnik to open in Burlington Arcade

Manolo Blahnik will open a new store in London’s Burlington Arcade at the start of next year.

The luxury footwear brand will open a double fronted 1,000 sq ft unit at the Burlington Gardens entrance close to Bond Street in early 2016. The store at 32-33 Burlington Arcade replaces the Georg Jensen pop-up store.

Since acquiring the Burlington Arcade in 2010, Meyer Bergman and Thor Equities have undertaken a significant restoration of the property, overseen by leading British architect Jamie Fobert.

Markus Meijer, chief executive of Meyer Bergman, said: “The luxury retail market is a competitive space and it is important that the Burlington Arcade evolves to ensure it maintains its prominent position in the sector. It’s a careful balancing act of maintaining individual and standalone stores and also introducing new retailers that complement our vision.”
