Marc Jacobs talks with Dior rumoured to have stalled

Negotiations between Marc Jacobs and French fashion house Christian Dior over the Louis Vuitton creative director taking the top design role at the brand are said to be proving difficult.

According to reports, the talks have halted with one major bone of contention being that Jacobs and his business partner Robert Duffy are seeking a substantial increase on their current salary and benefits package.

In August it was rumoured that Marc Jacobs could be set into the top design role at Dior, the position previously held by John Galliano, who was suspended in February following his arrest.

However, despite reports of a stall in the talks, sources said that Jacobs still appears to be the favoured option to succeed Galliano as Dior’s couturier.
