Marchesa in talks to launch diffusion line

Luxury womenswear brand Marchesa could be set to launch a contemporary line as it moves close to signing a deal with an investment company.

According to Vogue, Marchesa is completing a deal with LF USA, the US branch of Hong Kong-based investment company Li & Fung.

Marchesa would be the latest in a line of designers to launch a diffusion line including Karl Lagerfeld’s Karl, Alexander McQueen’s McQ and Victoria Beckham’s Victoria, Victoria Beckham.

LF USA also owns brands such as Rachel Zoe, Sofia Vergara and Keds Apparel. Earlier this month it was reported that LF USA had signed a licensing deal with New York label Vena Cava.
