Margot James becomes minister for small business

Margot James, MP for Stourbridge, has become the minister for small business, consumers and corporate responsibility, as the full ministerial responsibilities within the new department for business, energy and industrial strategy are confirmed.

Greg Clark is secretary of state for the new department, which he said is tasked with “delivering a comprehensive industrial strategy, leading government’s relationship with business, furthering our world-class science base, delivering affordable, clean energy and tackling climate change”.

The department also includes Nick Hurd as minister for climate change and industry; Jo Johnson, minister for universities, science, research and innovation; and Jesse Norman, minister for industry and energy.
