Mariella Burani approached by private equity

Mariella Burani, which owns the Mariella Burani and René Lezard brands, has received approaches from private equity firms.

The company said that private equity groups had talked to it with the idea of "creating value for the company". However it said it did not have any written, committed proposal from the funds.

British private equity fund Doughty Hanson has been linked to the approach. It is understood to value the company at around €800 million.
