Jacket Required co-founder Mark Batista launches London indie

The co-founder of men’s trade show Jacket Required and menswear agent Mark Batista has made a further move into the world of retail with the launch of an indie menswear store.

The Content Store opened at 28 Lamb’s Conduit Street on Friday (March 9) and aims to give customers access to a range of “really great menswear brands” sourced from around the world.

It stocks brands including CP Company, Edwin, Nike and Our Legacy plus accessories brands such as Sandqvist.

Alongside the clothing offer the 500 sq ft store stocks accessories and “nick-nacks”.

Batista said: “There are no other multi-brand indies on Lamb’s Conduit Street. There are some great stores like Folk and Oliver Spencer, but nowhere you can get lots of men’s brands under one roof.”

The basement of the shop will be used for wholesale operations for Batista’s agency Brand Progression initially, but the long term plan is to turn it into retail space.

For autumn 13 the indie will also launch a transactional website.
