Marks & Spencer is understood to be planning a second one-day Sale in an attempt to grab limited consumer spend in the run up Christmas.
According to TheDaily Telegraph, Marks & Spencer is considering launching a second "One-day Spectacular" on December 4 - two weeks on from last week's 20% off promotion, which was its first pre-Christmas Sale for four years.
Marks & Spencer is understood to be in talks with media buying agencies about booking adverts to promote the second event next week.
A Marks & Spencer spokesman told the newspaper: "It was very clear that last week's event was a success and customers responded well. We will not rule out anything in terms of a further sale."
Discounting at Debenhams and Marks & Spencer appeared to have given the high street a temporary footfall boost but overall, footfall fell last week.
