Marks & Spencer plans 30% Sale this Saturday

Marks & Spencer is planning to run a “Mega Day Sale” on Saturday, with the high street retailer cutting 30% off all clothing and general merchandise in a bid to drive sales in the last weekend before Christmas.

M&S is already offering half-price Christmas gifts and beauty products.

Many retailers including Gap, French Connection and Aldo, are holding Sales in order to boost trade in the final days before Christmas. According to PriceWaterhouseCoopers, 72% of 100 high street retailers are now on sale or running promotions with an average discount of 46%.

Visa has said Monday December 23 will be the busiest shopping day of the year, with shoppers spending £1.2bn via its cards as they buy last-minute gifts.
