Marks & Spencer will cut head office jobs after scaling back its expansion plans.
Marks & Spencer is understood to be planning significant job cuts in its property and store design departments, according to The Daily Telegraph.
The newspaper said that around three quarters of the store design team will go, as well as a large proportion of the property roles.
Marks & Spencer recently announced that its store refurbishment programme would be scaled back as part of plans to reduce capital expenditure this year from £900m to £700m.
An M&S spokeswoman told Drapers that a consultation with staff on the job cuts had started but said it was too early to confirm the number of jobs that would be affected.
