Marks & Spencer will bolster its international footprint by opening 250 overseas stores by 2017.
The high street giant aims to increase international sales by 25% and profits by 40% during the period.
The expansion will be food-led, although a spokesman for the retailer told Drapers clothing would be key in certain territories such as the Middle East.
Other priority areas include India, China, Russia and Western Europe.
Marks & Spencer currently operates 455 international stores across 53 territories.
