Mary Portas' government review due out this month

Mary Portas’ high street review for the government is expected to be released in the next couple of weeks.

The retail guru was originally scheduled to submit her report to the government in the autumn but it will now be completed during December.

The government drafted Portas in earlier this year to lead a review of the future of high street. At the time it was said that Portas would help “identify what government, local authorities and businesses can do to promote the development of more prosperous and diverse high streets.”

As part of her investigations Portas has travelled to town centres around the country talking to those connected with the high street. Members of the public and retailers have left 2,000 comments on her website since she was commissioned.
