Matchesfashion to open London distribution centre

Matchesfashion is launching a new distribution centre close to Heathrow Airport, to facilitate speedy international deliveries.

The west London hub is expected to open in early 2018, and will create 200 jobs.

Matchesfashion said the site has the “potential with redesign” to grow to more than 500,000 sq ft. It will enable the business to handle more than 4 million shipments a year by 2020.

Matchesfashion chief executive Ulric Jerome said: “This is a significant evolution of our logistics operation as the business experiences continued strong growth and achieves increased scale. This development will further strengthen our reputation for the best in class luxury service globally.”

The business, which delivers to 176 countries, recently expanded its headquarters at The Shard by 40% to take its total footprint to 48,000 sq ft.
