Matchesfashion to open outlet store in London’s Hackney

Luxury retailer Matchesfashion is to open its first outlet store in Hackney, east London, later this year.

A spokeswoman confirmed that it had signed on the new outlet store, but no further details have been announced as yet.

The business has a dedicated Sale section on its website, offering discounts of up to 70%.

Last month the retailer, which was founded in 1987, announced it is moving its London head office from Clapham Common to The Shard in the second quarter of this year, and is plotting further international expansion.

The business has four London stores in Marylebone, Notting Hill, Richmond and Wimbledon and sells its portfolio of 400 brands to customers in 176 countries. It predicts its sales will more than triple in the next four years, reaching £425m by 2019.

Other luxury brands, including Burberry, Aquascutum and Anya Hindmarch, have outlet stores in Hackney.
