Richard Johnson has joined Matchesfashion.com as commercial director to oversee its global buying team across womenswear and menswear.
Johnson was formerly vice president for fashion buying at Middle Eastern retail company Al Tayer Group from September 2012, covering Harvey Nichols and Bloomingdale’s in Dubai.
Prior to joining Al Tayer, he spent eight years at Harvey Nichols in the UK, latterly as buying controller.
Matchesfashion.com predicts that its sales will more than triple in the next four years, reaching £425m by 2019.
Founders Tom and Ruth Chapman stepped down as joint chief executives in July 2015, after 27 years.
