McArthurGlen is hoping to almost double the size of its Ashford Designer Outlet by 2016.
The company will submit a planning application early next year to add an additional 150,000 sq ft of retail space, expanding the centre from 183,000 sq ft to 333,000 sq ft.
Subject to approval, work will start late next year and the extra space will be scheduled to open at the end of 2016.
It will follow the £35m relaunch of McArthurGlen’s Swindon outlet, in which the centre will increase its retail space by nearly 50,000 sq ft to more than 250,000 sq ft.
McArthurGlen managing director for development Gary Bond said: “We have been looking at expanding a number of our designer outlets in the UK, in particular where we have strong support from local councils.”
