McQ to launch first stand-alone store

McQ, the diffusion line of Luxury brand Alexander McQueen, is set to get its first ever stand-alone store. According to reports the new store will open in central London in spring 2012.

This is the latest move for McQ since it was bought in-house last year from Italian licensee SINV SpA and is said to be part of a wider strategy to revamp it as a fully independent collection aimed at a younger audience.

Next year the brand is also said to be launching e-commerce through the McQ site.

McQ is currently sold in 350 stores globally, in markets including the Europe, Asia and Russia. Its London stockists include Harvey Nichols, Selfridges and Harrods.
