McQueen flagship goes up for sale

The UK flagships of British fashion house Alexander McQueen and footwear brand Tod’s have been put up for sale for £160m.

Insurer NFU Mutual has put the 23,265 sq ft office and dual retail building at 5 Old Bond Street on the market, The Times has reported.

Both stores, in the heart of Mayfair’s luxury retail area, have more than 12 years remaining on their leases.

Commercial property agents have speculated that one of the building’s tenants may want to acquire the property to protect themselves from rent rises.

Agents Chapman Petrie and Hoddell Stotesbury Morgan have been appointed to handle the sale.
