Meet the Manufacturer expands with brand hall

UK sourcing event Meet the Manufacturer is expanding with a new brand hall for the next edition.

The two-day event for British fashion, textiles and homeware will take place in May in east London. It will showcase British labels for the first time, including men’s accessories brand Geoff Stocker, lingerie label Unibu and kidswear brand Wild Things, in addition to its usual line-up of manufacturers.

It comes as UK manufacturers have reported increases in production of 25%-30% compared with 2015 thanks to a demand for home-produced goods, in a survey undertaken by Meet the Manufacturer.

“We’ve been inundated with enquiries since our last event from people not only looking for manufacturers to help them make their product in the UK but also from people who would like to buy from brands that are making in Britain,” said Make it British founder and chief executive Kate Hills. “That’s why we’re introducing a new ‘brands hall’ at our next event.”

The next edition will run from 24-25 May at The Old Truman Brewery in east London.
