Meltin’ Pot returns to UK for spring 10

Italian denim brand Meltin’ Pot is returning to the UK in spring 10 as a flagship label for the Terry Bates Agency.

Meltin’ Pot was last sold in the UK two years ago when the company employed Colin Clarke to head up its UK operation. When Clarke left to head up young fashion brand Firetrap for brand house WDT, Meltin’ Pot pulled the plug on its UK arm.

The brand, which historically only made “a shallow impression in the UK”, according to a spokeswoman, centres on denim, but also has a complete collection including tops and knits. Agency owner Terry Bates said: “The high street is so good and the indies are getting killed. They need a point of difference, and Meltin’ Pot can be that.”
Meltin’ Pot is sold across Europe and the US. There are about 200 pieces in the range for spring 10. Prices for the jeans go from £30 to £60. To find out more contact

The Terry Bates Agency has inked a deal for Harvey Nichols to exclusively stock New York denim brand Jeans Shop in the UK.
