Memorial service for textiles veteran James Sugden

A memorial service for James Sugden, who worked in the British textiles industry for almost 50 years, will be held on 23 May.

Sugden, who was CEO of Johnstons of Elgin for 25 years, was renowned for championing British textiles and nurturing a new generation of the retail sector.

He died at the end of December, aged 71.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday 23 May at 11.45am at St Katharine Cree Church, 86 Leadenhall Street, London. 

Refreshments will be available afterwards at the Clothworkers’ Hall, Dunster Court, Mincing Lane, London.
