Men’s brands head to Topman flagship

Men’s young fashion chain Topman is parachuting in a host of new brands to its flagship Oxford Street branch, as part of the iconic London store’s revamp.

Brands including Ben Sherman, People’s Market, Levi’s, Ringspun, Supremebeing, Amplified, Monkee Genes and Pepe Jeans are expected to be introduced to the store,
which will double in size from 11,000 sq ft to 22,000 sq ft by expanding upstairs into what was previously a buying office.

The retailer, part of Sir Philip Green’s Arcadia group, embarked on plans to increase the size of Topman at the landmark 214 Oxford Street site last year.

It is unclear whether the brands will operate concessions or if they will be bought in. However, sister fascia Topshop’s basement space in the same building houses a concession concept that sources said Topman was keen to replicate.

The new-look store is scheduled to be unveiled on September 16 to coincide with London Fashion Week, which begins on September 18.

Topshop is also driving its concession business and has launched a section on Topshop.com called Studio, from which online shoppers can buy product from Topshop’s Oxford Street concession offer.

Topman declined to comment.
