Menswear buyer Stephen Innes leaves USC

Stephen Innes, menswear buyer at USC, has departed the branded young fashion business a month after it appointed buying director Emma Alexander to oversee buying across all categories.

Innes worked at USC for five years progressing from junior menswear buyer to his current role and his departure will come as a shock to the industry. It is not known if he has a job to go to.

USC is seeking a replacement.

The departure comes just a month after women’s buying manager Sally Heath left the branded young fashion business by mutual consent.

Last month USC also appointed Per Una head of buying Emma Alexander to the newly-created role of buying director and as a member of the USC board. Alexander is responsible for all buying across womenswear, menswear and accessories.

The sales manager of one young fashion brand said of Innes’ exit: “Stephen is a genuine, stand up guy, the consummate professional at all times and a talented and methodical buyer. I’m sure whoever snaps him up will have a serious asset on their hands.”
