Metquarter footfall and sales rise

Retailers at Liverpool's upmarket Metquarter shopping centre had a 26% increase in like-for-like sales in February, with further sales growth predicted in the next few months.

Footfall has also increased by 10% at the centre which includes retailers such as Flannels, Hugo Boss and Armani Exchange.

Metquarter marketing manager Jennina O'Neill said that the scheme would benefit from new stores including DKNY Jeans and Azendi.

"We our now concentrating our efforts on creating luxury mall units which will help to further compliment the retail mix within the Metquarter".

Around 1.7 million people are expected to visit Liverpool during its year as Capital of Culture this year.
