Michael Jackson outfits to be displayed at Westfield

Westfield Stratford City will play host to outfits from Michael Jackson’s wardrobe with an exclusive exhibition on show next month.

The East London shopping centre has been named as the exclusive UK host of ‘The Collection of Tompkins and Bush: Michael Jackson Wardrobe’.

The collection features a range of outfits from Michael Jackson’s concert tour wardrobe and owned by Jackson’s long-term costume designers, Michael Bush and Dennis Tompkins.

Highlights from the collection include Jackson’s right handed crystal glove and a suit from the Smooth Criminal video. The collection will be shown in The Getty Gallery on The Street from October 5 until November 4.

The move represents one of the shopping centre’s key strategies - to offer shoppers entertainment alongside retail - in order to boost “dwell time”.

Westfield’s general manager of marketing Myf Ryan said Stratford was “increasingly becoming the destination of choice for exclusive events”.

Ryan added: “We look forward to welcoming visitors and fans to get up close and personal with music and fashion history.”
