Global fashion group Michael Kors has appointed Andrea Pesaresi as its new president of menswear.

Pesaresi has a long history in the fashion sector having worked for 25 years at Ermenegildo Zegna where his roles included brand director at Z Zegna and more recently chief executive at Philippe Model.

He will report to Kors chairman and chief executive John D Idol when he takes up his role on 15 October.

Speaking about the appointment Idol said: “Andrea has been in the industry for 30 years and comes to us with extensive knowledge of the evolving luxury men’s marketplace.

”Andrea will provide the necessary leadership to enable us to achieve our goal of developing the Michael Kors menswear business to $1bn in revenue.”

Pesaresi said: “It is a very exciting time in the men’s industry, and the Michael Kors iconic brand DNA provides a great foundation for growth.”
