US luxury clothing and accessories retailer Michael Kors has opened its first store in the North West of England, at Grosvenor’s Liverpool One shopping centre.
The 3,574 sq ft store, which opened this morning (October 2), will stock clothing, footwear, watches and accessories from both the Michael Kors Collection and the MICHAEL Michael Kors Clothing ranges.
Commenting on the opening, Grosvenor Liverpool Fund head of asset management Miles Dunnett said: “Michael Kors is a fantastic addition to Liverpool One’s premium fashion offer. Whilst their new store will be a destination in its own right for visitors to Liverpool One, it is also the perfect complement to Peter’s Lane and the deliberate tenant mix that is now established.”
The opening, Michael Kors’ 12th in the UK, is part of a European-wide expansion drive by the retailer, which reported exceptional sales on the Continent in its first quarter 2015 results in August. In the first three months of the year it saw a revenue increase of 128% from its European stores and concessions.
Founded in the US in 1981, Michael Kors operates over 440 stores and concessions worldwide, with international stores in 45 overseas markets.
