Michael Ward agrees to extend tenure at Harrods

Harrods managing director Michael Ward will stay on at the business until the end of January 2017, Drapers has learned.

Michael Ward

It was reported in March that Ward intended to step down from the business after 11 years this summer.

He has now informed staff that, following discussions with shareholders, he has decided to stay on until the end of Harrods’ financial year, overseeing the key Christmas trading period.

Ward has worked at the Knightsbridge department store since 2005.
