Mint Velvet and JD to join line-up at Westgate Oxford

Mint Velvet, Guess and JD Sports are among a raft of new retailers to have signed for units at the revamped Westgate Oxford, which is due to reopen in October.

Westgate 170117

Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein have already signed for stores in the centre

Local men’s lifestyle independent Burrows & Hare and online children’s and baby clothing retailer Trotters will also open in the shopping centre.

Originally built in the early 1970s, Westgate is being redeveloped by joint owners Land Securities and the Crown Estate, which bought it from Capital Shopping Centres in 2010.

The £440m project will triple the centre’s size to 800,000 sq ft, housing 100 retailers, 25 bars and restaurants, and a boutique cinema. It is now 70% pre-let and in solicitors’ hands.

It will be anchored by a 140,000 sq ft John Lewis.

Among the fashion brands that have confirmed units are Michael Kors, Hugo Boss, Ted Baker, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Cos, H&M, & Other Stories, Russell & Bromley and Victoria’s Secret Pink.
