Mint Velvet to open Chiswick store this week

Mint Velvet is to kick start a retail expansion programme with the opening of a standalone store in Chiswick in London this week.

The 1,175 sq ft store, located on Chiswick High Road, will be Mint Velvet’s 18th standalone, following openings in Beaconsfield, Harrogate, Edinburgh, Sevenoaks and Henley this year.

Mint Velvet plans to open in Berkhamsted before Christmas, and has earmarked between 10 to 15 new stores in locations such as Islington, Richmond and Hampstead, over the next 18 months.

Commercial director Stuart Grant said: “Mint Velvet’s relaxed glamour proposition continues to drive strong year on year sales growth. Over the last four years we have opened 104 outlets, 18 of which have been individual boutiques in affluent market towns.”

Grant said the alongside the plans for the UK, the company will look at expanding internationally.

As well as high street boutiques, Mint Velvet operates 83 concessions in department stores such as John Lewis, Fenwick and House of Fraser.
