Modern Rarity boosts womenswear sales at John Lewis

John Lewis’ new brand Modern Rarity has gone down well with shoppers, helping to boost womenswear sales at the retailer by 5.6% during the week to 10 September.

Overall fashion sales increased by 6.8%, compared to the same period last year. It was a strong week for back to school: kidswear sales were up 35.1% and kid’s footwear up 94%.

Total sales at John Lewis were up 9.1% to £82.7m.
