More changes to Next’s womenswear team

Next has appointed Jenny Davies as its new buying manager on tops.

The latest senior-level recruit in the retailer’s womenswear department, Davies, who has spent the past two years working for supplier Fashion Design Philosophy as product and sales director, returns to Next on August 8. She was global sales manager for Next Sourcing for seven years from 2006 to 2013.

She was previously a jersey buyer for womenswear at Next for six years from 2000 to 2006.

Earlier this month Next appointed Katya Drummond, head of buying and merchandising at Reiss, as buying manager for womenswear bottoms and outerwear.

In February Drapers revealed that Next’s womenswear buying manager Alicia Lee is to leave after 20 years. Lee joined Next in 1996. Her last day will be on July 1, sources have said. It is thought she is leaving to spend more time with her two young children.

It is not known if a replacement has been appointed.
