More UK buyers attend second day Pitti Uomo

The second morning of Florence-based menswear show Pitti Uomo was more buzzing than yesterday according to buyers and exhibitors.

While UK visitors were practically invisible yesterday, UK attendance was more promising, with buyers flying in last night. Multiples, including John Lewis, and independents were getting about their morning appointments.

John Deane-Bowers, of Trotter and Deane in Bury-St-Edmonds, was in an upbeat but cautious mood, saying: "This show is an opportunity to check we are where we want to be. I've already done one buy this morning which has made the trip worthwhile."

Strong looks coming out of the show from tailoring brands included checks, particularly in suiting. For a full report on Pitti Uomo see Drapers magazine's June 28 issue or take part in the Trend Talk - a live, interactive chat hosted by next Tuesday, starting at 6.30pm.
