Morrisons to launch first own-brand clothing

Supermarket chain Morrisons is to launch its first own-brand clothing range next month.

The Nutmeg kidswear range will debut in March offering items including toddlers T-shirts for £2 and jeans for £5. The collection will be available across 100 of Morrisons’ stores.

In March last year the retailer appointed former Peacocks managing director Tim Bettley as its first director of clothing in a move to ramp up its non-food offer.

At the times sources said Bettley had been brought in to extend Morrisons’ clothing range and launch an own brand fashion line for the first time, pitting it against Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda, which have all had success with their own clothing ranges.
