The menswear business has partnered with Retail Arabia to open a 2,000 sq ft franchise store in the Ibn Battuta shopping mall in Dubai. An exact opening date has not been confirmed.

In the UK, it will open a store in Teeside next week. The Westfield store, which will be 4,000 sq ft over two floors, is set to open in June or July.

Chief executive Brian Brick described it a “major store” and said it will have some “special” features, details of which will be revealed closer to the time.

A store in Rushden Lakes is set to follow next spring.

Earlier today, Moss Bros reported a rise in group like-for-like sales of 8.2% to £119m for the year to January 30, while underlying profit before tax grew 23.1% to £5.9m compared with the previous year.

Like-for-like retail sales were up 7.6% and it had refurbished 81 of its 124 stores by the year-end.

Moss Bros continues to develop its own sub-brands, Moss London, Moss 1851, and Moss Esq, which it stocks alongside third parties such as Ted Baker and French Connection. It is looking to stretch the pricing architecture for Moss London to between £170 and £200 for suits, up from £150 and below.

The company has introduced its “accessible bespoke” line, Tailor Me, into 25 stores following a successful pilot. Tailor Me- which offers made to measure suits from £325 to £495-  will be rolled out to all stores by September this year. It has also introduced Savile Row label Hardy Amies online and in select stores for spring 16.
