Mothercare appoints Andy Harding as chief customer officer

Mothercare has appointed former House of Fraser chief customer officer Andy Harding as CCO on an interim basis.

He will join the maternity and baby specialist in the newly-created role in July. Harding will report into chief executive Mark Newton-Jones and sit on the executive board.

Global brand and marketing director Gary Kibble announced in March he was leaving Mothercare to become marketing director at Sainsbury’s Argos.

He will continue in his role until June, taking on additional responsibilities of chief customer officer while Mothercare searches for a permanent CCO.

Harding is currently a senior advisor at the consultancy firm McKinsey, where he advises international clients on their omnichannel strategy, profit and loss growth, digital development, marketing and brand strategy and data analysis.

He was chief customer officer at HoF from March 2015 to April 2016, where he had an international remit for customer strategy, brand, and multichannel performance.

Harding was previously executive director for multichannel at HoF from February 2013 to February 2015 and director of ecommerce from January 2011 to January 2013.

He has also held roles at stationery retailer Ryman, Carphone Warehouse and BHS.
