Mothercare favours out-of-town growth

Mothercare will shift its focus from the high street to out-of-town stores, as sales rose by 5% to £498.5 million for the year to March 31. Pre-tax profits slipped 21.9% to £18.9m, after changes in accounting standards and a depot move. Chief executive Ben Gordon said out-of-town stores will make up the bulk of its growth. He will roll out 10 more out-of-town stores by next year.
