Mothercare investors support £100m rights issue

Mothercare’s investors have voted in favour of a £100m rescue rights issue to help stabilise the business.

At a meeting yesterday, 99% of the votes were cast in favour of move, which is valued at 125p a share.

The chain aims to use the proceeds to shut UK shops, refurbish the rest and improve the company’s online shopping offer.
