Mother's Day boosts fashion sales at John Lewis

An early Mother’s Day has caused a 17.9% rise in fashion sales at John Lewis compared to last year, in the week to 10 March.

The uplift was mainly in womenswear which grew by 17.7% with own-brand and cashmere standing out as strong performers.

Total sales for the week were up 11.6% on the same period last year.
